Review by hotel critic
Sítio Valfenda Itatiaia, nestled in the heart of a small Afro-Brazilian community within the National Park, offers a tranquil escape with breathtaking mountain views. Our gracious host, Hugo, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless, embodying the warmth and hospitality of Brazil. The cozy holiday home we stayed in featured a well-equipped kitchen where we enjoyed cooking meals together, overlooking the lush garden and listening to the distant sounds of a running stream. The starlit nights were simply magical, perfect for stargazing and unwinding after a day of exploring the nearby waterfalls.Despite the hot water taking a bit of time to kick in, the charming fireplace, comfortable seating area, and thoughtful amenities provided an authentic and immersive experience. Being just a stone's throw away from Pedra Selada Mountain added an extra layer of adventure to our trip, allowing us to truly connect with nature and the local surroundings. With a simple yet satisfying breakfast each morning and the convenience of free WiFi, Sítio Valfenda Itatiaia proved to be a hidden gem for those seeking a peaceful retreat in Itatiaia. The sense of community and cultural authenticity that permeated our stay made it a truly unforgettable experience, leaving us longing to return and explore more of this richly diverse region.
